Changes To Save-Petrol.co.uk Website - & I'm Getting A Diesel!
Recently the prices of petrol and diesel have dropped significantly. This has seen the interest in saving fuel drop massively. The fact is it still isn't cheap and you can still save 25% on your fuel bills, regardless of the price at the pumps.

However, the drop in interest has lead to a big drop in the people using my website so it will very rarely be updated now. And the blog I set up will only be posted on sparingly. It isn't worth my while updating if the site only gets a few thousand visitors per month.

I've also ordered one of the new Ford Focus Zetec S's, it is a diesel so my ventures with saving petrol will stop, and my focus will be on diesel. However the general tips to work for both fuels so not much will change.

Make sure you keep using the save-petrol.co.uk website and reminding yourself of the tips - because they can still save you hundreds of pounds!!

Asda to Cut Petrol Price by 2p & Diesel by 4p!
The supermarket price war rumbles on! Today Asda announced it will cut petrol and diesel prices. Unleaded petrol will fall by 2p (to 111.9p per litre) and diesel will drop by 4p (to 124.9p per litre).

The price changes will happen on Thursday and will be done across the UK .

This fall follows the cut of 3p on diesel and petrol announced last week. The other major supermarkes normally act quickly by dropping their prices as well, we will have to see how much by this time round!

Fuel prices are still too high but at least the price is going the right way, putting £40 in a Fiesta is no fun so I can't imagine what it must be like for drivers of larger cars.

More Good News!
We have had a whole new design of our website done which looks much nicer, it also features some new pages including information on paying for fuel using a cash back credit card and the effects of driving with a cold engine.

More news to follow in coming months so I'll keep you posted!

2p Tax Rise Delayed Until April 2009! Plus The Goodwood Report.
Yesterday the Treasury announced they have delayed the planned 2p per litre rise until April 2009. The rise was originally planned for April 2008 so this is the second time the rise has been delayed. Looks like the pressure from motorists on the Government is at least having some effect!

My report from the Goodwood Festival Of Speed is now live on the website, you can read it here: BP At Goodwood.

I've also put together a page about using BP Ultimate fuels instead of normal petrol and diesel. The BP Ultimate fuels do cost more, but they also get you further because they are a higher quality fuel. BP Ultimate Unleaded can get you upto 28 miles extra per tank so it's worth checking out. Here is the page on BP Ultimate Fuels.

The development of Save-Petrol.co.uk continues so keep watching out for our updates.

Save More Money On Motoring! BP Special Coming Soon.
We are completing a series of new pages covering other ways to lower the cost of driving. The first two pages are now complete and live on the website:

- Save Money On Your Car Warranty
- Get The Lowest Price On Car Rentals

In a couple of days a new special feature on BP and what they are doing to help consumers save petrol will also be live. On Friday 11th of July I went to the Goodwood Festival of Speed after I was invited by BP to see what they are doing. I also had the pleasure of a chat with Quentin Willson which was great - I will expand more in the feature!

I will post another update when the new series of pages are complete and the BP special feature is complete.

Regards, Chris - Webmaster.
